2026 SMM (3RD) GLOBAL RENEWABLE METAL INDUSTRY CHAIN SUMMIT & BATTERY RECYCLING FORUM
Amid the global push for sustainable development and circular resource use, recycled metals and battery recycling are becoming increasingly strategic industries. As demand for metal resources continues to grow while natural reserves remain limited, recycling provides a green and economically viable solution. Governments worldwide are strengthening policy support and investment to promote technological innovation and industry upgrades. Japan is one of Asia’s key recycling hubs. The country produces over one million tonnes of recycled aluminium annually, with more than 70% sourced from high-grade post-consumer scrap, such as construction aluminium and automotive wheel hubs. In June 2024, the Japanese government announced a ¥30 billion investment to build 10 e-waste recycling facilities within three years. Japan also leads in advanced recycling technologies, aiming to reach 500,000 tonnes of e-waste recycling capacity by 2030 Against this international backdrop, the 2026 SMM (3rd) Global Renewable Metal Industry Chain Summit & Battery Recycling Forum will be held in Tokyo, Japan, from May 11–12, 2026. The summit aims to bring together leading global enterprises, research institutions, industry experts, and policymakers in the fields of renewable metals and battery recycling. Under the slogan “Low Carbon, Global Echoes,” the event will serve as an international platform for bringing together global industry leaders to explore trends, innovations, and policy developments shaping the circular economy.

I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to attend the Global Renewable Metal Industry Chain Summit. Connecting with professionals from a wide range of sectors, including scrap yards, recyclers, and associations, was a fantastic experience. The in-depth conversations with industry leaders were invaluable, providing me with valuable insights. Furthermore, the rich discussions on topics ranging from supply and demand dynamics and pricing trends to policy interpretations have given me a much deeper understanding of the industry landscape.
I was thrilled to be part of the panel discussion at the Global Renewable Metal Industry Chain Summit. It was exciting to engage with fellow experts on low-carbon strategies and innovation development – we had some stimulating conversations that offered fresh perspectives and viable strategies all the way from raw materials to processing. What made it even better was the audience's active participation. Their diverse viewpoints and questions really enriched the discussion. It's clear that the green transition and sustainable development of the renewable metal industry are critical, and I'm confident this focus will unlock numerous opportunities.
